Tribal Health Initiative

Tribal Hospital of Tribal Health Initiative is a 30 bedded hospital catering to the health needs of the tribal community in the region. It provides primary and secondary level surgical and obstetric services with the aim of providing good quality health care that is acceptable, accessible and affordable to the local community. THI has trained several tribal youth who now manage the pharmacy, lab, X-ray, nursing and various other departments in the hospital.

Going beyond just health care, and with the vision to attain highest possible level of complete health and also to enhance the socio-economic and cultural status of the local tribal community, THI has initiated several developmental activities for the upliftment of the tribal community. Sittilingi Organic Farmers’ Association (SOFA) is one such effort which now comprises 500 organic farmers and more than 500 women entrepreuners. There are other efforts such as our craft initiative named Porgai, and our education initiative named Thulir. Hence there are ample opportunities for interested people to contribute and also to learn and gain from the wisdom of the tribals leading to mutual growth and development.
