St. Ann’s Hospital, Elathagiri was founded in the 1980s as a measure to curb snake-bite associated mortality prevalent in the Krishnagiri, Shoolagiri and Hosur districts of Tamil Nadu. Since then, thousands of patients have flocked to the hospital in need of emergency and ambulatory care for snake-bites. The hospital has also currently transitioned to accommodate other public health issues such as infectious disease, comorbidities and common ailments.
While treating patients based on Allopathy, the hospital is famous for curating it’s treatment protocol to ensure that superstitious myths and perceptions of the local population are kept in mind, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
They currently house 15 in-patient beds in a separate male and female ward and, a single private room. Facilities include ASV; emergency drugs such as adrenaline, neostigmine, glycopyrrolate, atropine, and lorazepam, a lab facility with hematological and infectious disease equipment, and, an ECG machine.
Located in the small village of Elathagiri the hospital sees an average of 5 venomous snake-bites per week. It continues to be a life-saving hospital to many.

Sundays are off and Saturdays are half day only.
4 Nursing Aids: [ANM/Diploma in Health Assistant] rotate over a 24 hour period. Night duties occur once in a week.
2 Nurses [B. Sc] rotate over a 24 hour period. 1 Lab Technician: available during OP timings.
OP timings are between 9 am-1 pm and 4 pm to 8:30 pm.
